Summer Concert, Poetry Readings This Week

Roads will be closed down throughout the Cedars Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. as crews continue working on a water main project. The Caldwell Police Department is advising residents to plan alternate routes and follow posted detour routes.

The North Caldwell Mayor and Council will meet Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in borough hall, 151 Gould Ave. 

The West Caldwell Public Library, at 30 Clinton Road, will present a staged reading titled "Daring Literary Divas" Tuesday at 7 p.m. featuring Equity actors Thea White and J.C. Hoyt.

Enjoy some of Dorothy Parker's acerbic poems, a scene from Ionesco's "The Bald Soprano," excerpts from "The Diaries of Adam and Eve" by Mark Twain, and excerpts from the play "Gross Indecency: the Three Trials of Oscar Wilde."

The West Caldwell Zoning Board of Adjustment will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday in the township municipal building, at 30 Clinton Road.

The West Caldwell summer gazebo concert series will continue Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Crane Park with the musical talents of 52nd Street Band, the world’s longest running Billy Joel tribute band. 

Food will be served by at the gazebo concert by Forte’s Restaurante starting at 6:30 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.
