The Roseland Free Public Library is excited to partner with the Folk Life Center of Northern NJ to present Building Bridges of Connection, a series of cultural events that aim to share and celebrate traditions from different countries around the world. 
Our Building Bridges of Connection series begins with a Philippine music and folk-art experience. The Alay Philippine Performing Arts Rondalla, an ensemble of musicians playing the banduria, laud, and octavina, a group of traditional 14-stringed instruments, will perform 12-12:30 pm. 
Guests will also have the opportunity to sample some traditional foods from the Philippines as they enjoy the rhythmic sounds of the Rondalla.
Between 12:30 and 2:30 pm, Philippine eggshell mosaic folk artist Amor Nazario will lead a workshop for all adults and children on how to create eggshell mosaics and embellish them with watercolor paints. Recommended age for children to work on their own mosaic is 7 years and up. Children may also work together with their family on a mosaic.
