ReplyAgreed. That should be looked at. The jam up seems to be on Bloomfield Avenue eastbound between Gould and Personnette (if you have not been on the road during school/work rush hours give it a whirl). Drivers on Park Avenue turning eastbound onto Bloomfield Avenue frequently 'block the box' to get in queue during a yellow or red light. This jam causes cars to miss the light at Park heading westbound and eastbound twice. A Police Officer needs to monitor this on foot and/or video tape this which happens during rush hour to school/work, after school and evening rush hour. This is unsafe.
Westville- turning onto Roseland North to turn eastbound onto Bloomfield, then trying to turn left onto Forest via the new left turn arrow is impossible. This needs to be tweaked to allow drivers to turn left. It is such a short distance, allow at least 3 cars to make turn and reasonable. Once the arrow does return the westbound vehicles that had the green light 'block the box' and the crosswalk because yellow meant 'go faster' and red meant 'don't stop'. Often the crossing guard must educate the drivers blocking the box', which is absurd.

ReplyWhat a great recount of your experience of 911 from afar. The letter from the Consulate General of the United States of America would have freaked me out. But Curacao is an amazing Island and I am sure you were in good hands. The plane trip home must have been very stressful and to not see those illuminated towers must have been disorienting. Thanks for sharing!

These children must understand past events to handle and prepare going forward. They will get it eventually. But share what you know. Militant Islam is the thorn in every other society’s side, developing nations or developed. Until those who threaten to conquer ‘society at large’ have been marginalized, we must be cautious, clear headed, knowledgeable, and try to remember that we must stand with each other or we will lose. The children must know at this point Militant Islam is threat. Good work by this group of educators, parent, friend, family, of those lost on 9/11/2001. Hopefully, all schools, public and private will use same curriculum!

ReplyThe children must be told the facts. War was once hand to hand, bows and arrows, man and chariot V. slaves in sandals, rifles and grenades, hijacked planes and WOMD. Here Here to the 21st Century 8-(. Long after we adults are gone, unfortunately war will continue. Different wars than what we see today and super creative wars. Yes, we can HOPE for peace, love, prosperity and joy and we should, but the children must know, it is our responsibility to prepare them. We are still trying to look into the mind of Hitler and alike. Why? Because madness and intellect is a recipe for disaster. Throw into the mixing bowl fresh squeezed ‘Militant Islam’ leaders who are well educated, want it their way, and on the edge with bunches of brainwashed impoverished Islamic youth who want the Virgins, well this is not good. Frankly, I don’t understand 100% of it, but I know I am scared a bit. Not every day, not every week, not when I fly, or travel through a tunnel, but occasionally. When I hear a low flying commercial plane overhead, I think about 911 for a few seconds.

@ Mr. Norton and Mr. Piazza: What changes have been executed to slow down speeders on our streets in past 2 years? What is the plan going forward?
@Mr. Rodgers and Mr. Kelley: What is your plan to slow down speeders if elected?
