Open Registration for Trinity Academy Summer Camp

The camp will be for students in pre-K through fifth grade and extend from July 8 through Aug. 16.

Registration is now open for the Summer Enrichment Program at Trinity Academy.  The program is open to all, but currently enrolled Trinity Academy students will have priority so register early to reserve a space.  The cost is $200 per week/per child plus $25 per each weekly trip. Children may register for all or select weeks.  For those children currently in pre-K or entering kindergarten in September, camp will be held at the Trinity Academy Early Childhood Center in Roseland. The program will be held Mondays to Fridays from July 8 through Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or 9 a.m. to 1 p.m..  The well-supervised program will feature both learning experiences and recreation components. Trinity Students Meet Supreme Court Justice on D.C. Trip

Seventh and eighth grade students from Trinity Academy in Caldwell met with U.S. Supreme Court Justice — and former Trinity Academy parent — Samuel Anthony Alito, Jr. during an exclusive visit to the United States Supreme Court in Washington, D.C. earlier this month. During the 45-minute private session in the "lawyers lounge", Justice Alito took time from his busy day to answer numerous questions from the students. The students gained valuable insight to how the Supreme Court works.   During the trip, the students also visited the United States Capitol, the Lincoln Memorial and the new Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial.  Alito lived in West Caldwell with his family before his Supreme Court nomination by President George W. Bush. …

Trinity Academy to Stage 'The Wizard of Oz'

Caldwell school musical set for April 11 and 12.

Trinity Academy will mark the 20th anniversary of its theater program with a production of The Wizard of Oz. Performances will take place on Thursday and Friday, April 11 and 12, at 7:30 p.m., in the school gymnasium. Trinity Academy is located at 235 Bloomfield Ave., Caldwell.        The show will feature fifth through eighth graders who are members of the Drama Club. Cast and crew have been rehearsing and preparing for months under the professional direction of Kelly King.  Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion travel to find the dreams of their hearts in this classic children's work. County Honors Caldwells Student Artists

Artwork from five students at Caldwell’s Trinity Academy and three West Essex High School students recently graced the first-floor lobby of Newark’s Hall of Records as part of the Art Educators of New Jersey student art exhibit, county officials announced. On March 19, Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo Jr. and the Art Educators of New Jersey welcomed a total of 75 students for the ninth consecutive year from throughout the county, who range in age from elementary to high school students. St. Aloysius to Hold Turkey and Ham Collection

Donations will be accepted at Trinity Academy in Caldwell to help fill freezers of St John’s Soup Kitchen in Newark.

A turkey and ham collection is being held at Trinity Academy in Caldwell Tuesday. Area residents are asked to help those less fortunate by donating frozen turkey breasts and hams on March 26. The collection will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Trinity Academy gymnasium behind St. Aloysius Church. Volunteers will be available to take donations out of cars. Donations will help fill the freezers of St John’s Soup Kitchen in Newark, where two pots of soup help feed approximately 200 gry people every day.     Non-perishable food items are also welcome, including canned vegetables and soup, mashed potatoes, stuffing, rice, pasta sauce, coffee, sugar and salt. Local Runners Place First in Reindeer Run [Photos]

Results of second annual Trinity Academy 5K Reindeer Run/Walk held Saturday in Caldwell.

Close to 1,000 runners and walkers participated in the second annual Trinity Academy 5K Reindeer Walk/Run in Caldwell Saturday.  Santa and Mrs. Claus were on hand to cheer on runners and walkers which traveled 3.1 miles on a course through Caldwell, West Caldwell and North Caldwell. Trinity Academy Holds Reindeer Run/Walk Saturday

Second annual 5K travels through all three Caldwell towns. Holiday shopping and photo-ops with Santa follow run/walk.

More than 850 runners and walkers are expected at this weekend’s second annual Trinity Academy 5K Reindeer Run/Walk. If you haven’t pre-registered and want to participate, it’s not too late. Registration opens prior to the race at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1., at Trinity Academy, 235 Bloomfield Ave., in Caldwell. The run/walk begins promptly at 9:30 a.m. at the starting line on Hatfield Street, at the intersection of Forest Avenue. The USATF-NJ 500 Point Grand Prix sanctioned race 5K course travels through the Caldwells and finishes at the Trinity Academy parking lot. The top three finishers in every age category and the top male and female will receive prizes. Trinity Academy did a great job organizing this event! Even though it was cold teachers, students, and community members came together to have fun and help the less fortunate by clothing&book donations. It was a great treat for the kids and it was a lot of fun for the adults. A great way to spend a Saturday. I hope Trinity continues with this Reindeer Run Tradition. Great Job Trinity!   more ›

Trinity Girls Named 2012 Soccer League Champs

7/8 girls compete in West Essex Youth Sports Alliance (WEYSA).

Trinity Academy soccer teams enjoyed a successful soccer season. Girls in grades 1/2, 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8 and boys in grades 1/2 and 3/4 participated in the West Essex Youth Sports Alliance (WEYSA), playing against teams from Caldwell, West Caldwell, North Caldwell, Fairfield, Roseland, Essex Fells and Cedar Grove. The teams played a ten game season from mid-September through the end of October, with playoff games during November. The teams enjoyed a fun and competitive season, with several of the Trinity Saints teams placing in top standings for their age groups. The 7/8 girls team won their league with an 8-2 record. They received trophies and a “League Champs” banner will proudly be hung in the Trinity Academy gym. The 1/2 girls team …

Trinity Academy Celebrates Commencement

School graduates 29 eighth graders.

Trinity Academy graduated 29 eighth graders during its Commencement Ceremony on Friday, June 1, at 7 p.m., at St. Aloysius Parish in Caldwell. The eighth graders began their graduation day in the morning with a special Baccalaureate Mass at St. Aloysius, where the graduates gathered with their families and the entire student body to celebrate First Friday Mass for the last time as Trinity Academy students. During the formal graduation ceremony that evening, administration and faculty led the procession of the Class of 2012 graduates. Family and friends in attendance watched with joy as the eighth graders received their diplomas, symbolizing the end of one chapter of their lives and the beginning of another.  Principal Dorothy McMahon …

PHOTOS: Daisy Troop Earns 'Caring' Patch

Trinity Academy Daisy Troops donate books and toys to Pediatric Department at St. Barnabas Medical Center.

Members of Trinity Academy’s Daisy Troop earned their “Considerate and Caring Patch” on Martin Luther King, Jr. day, a national day of service. The Daisy Troop visited St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston on Monday, Jan. 16 and donated new toys, books and movies to the Pediatric Department. The kindergarten girls met with a Child Life Specialist at the hospital who spoke to them about what it’s like to be a pediatric patient. As an added bonus, the girls had the opportunity to meet “Trooper,” a hospital therapy dog who plays with the kids.
