Local Girl Sets Up Lemonade Stand for St. Jude's
Fighting childhood cancer one lemon at a time.
A local 7-year-old girl passed up walking in the West Essex Memorial Day Parade last Monday to run a lemonade stand. But it was no ordinary lemonade stand. Olivia D'Angelo was raising money for St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital in honor of a cousin and friend who have both battled leukemia. Written on a chalkboard attached to her lemonade stand was the message: "Fighting childhood cancer one lemon at a time." Olivia, selling lemonade for 50 cents and cookies for $1, raised a total of $100 during the parade which travels down Bloomfield Avenue through Caldwell and West Caldwell.
