Caldwell 'Made' Man in Philadelphia's La Cosa Nostra Family Sentenced

Louis Fazzini to serve 55 months in prison for racketeering.

A Caldwell man who admitted to participating in racketeering activity as a “made” member of the North Jersey crew of the Philadelphia La Cosa Nostra (LCN) family has been sentenced to 55 months in prison, the U.S. Department of Justice announced. Louis Fazzini, 46, was sentenced Monday by U.S. District Judge Eduardo C. Robreno in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The sentencing included three years of supervised release following his prison term. Fazzini pleaded guilty in October to conspiring to taking part in a racketeering conspiracy involving illegal gambling and theft from an employee benefit plan. Caldwell Man Pleads Guilty to Racketeering Conspiracy

A Caldwell man pleaded guilty to racketeering charges Friday, admitting he was involved in illegal gambling and received health benefits through a “no show” job as a “made” member of a Philadelphia mob family. Louis Fazzini, 45, said as a “made” member of the North Jersey crew of the Philadelphia La Cosa Nostra (LCN) Family, he operated a sports bookmaking business, the U.S. District Attorney’s Office in Eastern Pennsylvania stated in a release. At a plea hearing before U.S. District Judge Eduardo C. Robreno in Pennsylvania, Fazzini said he devised a fraudulent scheme to obtain health benefits through a “no show” job controlled by the LCN. Two Alleged La Cosa Nostra Members Arrested in Newark

Caldwell man charged with racketeering conspiracy.

Two alleged members of the Philadelphia organized crime family of La Cosa Nostra (LCN) were arrested in Newark Thursday on racketeering charges, according to the U.S. Dept. of Justice. Joseph Licata, 70, of Florham Park, and Louis Fazzini, 45, of Caldwell, were each charged with racketeering conspiracy in a second superseding indictment. Licata and Fazzini were scheduled to appear in court Thursday. According to the indictment, Licata served as a “caporegime” of the North Jersey crew of the Philadelphia LCN Family and supervised Louis Fazzini, a fully initiated or “made” member of this crew, in the operation of an illegal sports gambling business and other activities.  The charges come as federal authorities expand a case against alleged …
