This circular rainbow was captured by Janet Markman on Tuesday.

This Photo of the Day comes courtesy of resident Janet Markman.  Markman captured this circular rainbow or sun dog while walking on Bloomfield Avenue across from the First Presbyterian Church around 3 on Tuesday.  A sun dog, known by its scientific name as a parhelion, is an "atmospheric phenomenon that creates bright spots of light in the sky, often on a luminous ring or halo on either side of the sun," according to Wikipedia.  Did you snap a great photo from around town?
