Details are as follows: Duties will include, but are not limited to, answering heavy volume of incoming calls, meeting and greeting members and guests, maintaining dining reservations, basic administrative/clerical responsibilities. This position is the first point of contact for callers and visitors—a professional demeanor and clear communication skills are a must. A solid work ethic, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines are necessary skills. Word and Excel understanding is required. Paul Simson Wins 2012 USGA Senior Amateur at Mountain Ridge

Paul Simson, 61, of Raleigh, N.C., won three of four holes on the inward nine to defeat Curtis Skinner, 55, of Lake Bluff, Ill., 4 and 3, Thursday and win the 2012 USGA Senior Amateur Championship at the par-71, 6,838-yard Mountain Ridge Country Club in West Caldwell. Simson, who won this championship for the second time in the last three years, becomes the 14th player to have captured at least two Senior Amateur titles. In 2010, he garnered his first championship at Lake Nona Golf and Country Club in Orlando, Fla. “It's an indescribable feeling to win the first one, and to win the second one, I would call it more of a thrill than an honor,” said Simson, who capped a happy homecoming this week to his native northern New Jersey. Past champion Paul Simson, 61, of Raleigh, N.C., and Curtis Skinner, 55, of Lake Bluff, Ill., each won a pair of matches on a soggy and foggy Wednesday at Mountain Ridge Country Club in West Caldwell to advance to Thursday’s 18-hole championship match of the 2012 USGA Senior Amateur. Simson, the 2010 champion, registered five birdies and an eagle on the 6,838-yard, par-71 Donald Ross design in defeating Jim Knoll, 60, of Sunnyvale, Calif., 3 and 2, in the first of the two semifinal matches. Earlier in the day, Simson played just 10 holes before Stephen Sharpe, of Greensboro, N.C., decided to concede the match after the 1-hour, 56-minute weather delay due to more than an inch of rain that saturated the course. Jim Holtgrieve Earns Medalist Honors at 2012 USGA Senior Amateur

Jim Holtgrieve, 64, of St. Louis, carded a 3-under-par 68 to earn medalist honors Sunday on the second day of stroke-play qualifying at the 2012 USGA Senior Amateur Championship at the par-71, 6,838-yard Mountain Ridge Country Club in West Caldwell. Holtgrieve, who also shot 68 in the first round, finished at 6-under 136. First-round leader Stan Kinsey, 58, of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., was one stroke behind at 5-under 137. His second-round 71 followed a 66, which matched the second-best 18-hole qualifying score in championship history.                                                      The USGA Senior Amateur Championship consists of 36 holes of stroke play with the field then reduced to the low 64 scorers for six rounds of match play. …

Par-Troy Golfer Tees Off in Hopes of USGA Senior Amateur Win

Jay Blumenfeld sells insurance, but his real passion is golf, and this weekend he gets his second chance to make his dream reality.

Jay Blumenfeld says winning the U.S. Golf Association Senior Amateur Championship would be a dream come true, and he just may have that chance this weekend. The 60-year-old longtime Parsippany resident is competing in the annual tournament, which tees off officially Saturday at Mountain Ridge Country Club in West Caldwell. And he appears to have a good shot. Blumenfeld is the reigning club champion at Mountain Ridge. To win that title, he told Patch, he had to play a course featuring tougher conditions than those Amateur contestants will face. "I may have an advantage in that sense," he said. Stan Kinsey, 58, of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., fired a 5-under-par 66 Saturday to grab the lead on the first day of stroke-play qualifying at the 2012 USGA Senior Amateur Championship at the par-71, 6,838-yard Mountain Ridge Country Club in West Caldwell. Kinsey, who carded six birdies and one bogey in his morning round, shot the lowest stroke-play round since 2007 and matched the second-best 18-hole qualifying score in championship history. National Golf Championship Starts Saturday in West Caldwell

100-year-old Mountain Ridge Country Club hosts 2012 USGA Senior Amateur Championship.

Top golfers from around the country have descended on Essex County where they’ll compete in the 2012 USGA Senior Amateur Championship starting this weekend. The Mountain Ridge Country Club in West Caldwell welcomed 156 players from 41 states, Canada and Mexico Thursday and Friday for practice rounds. Competition gets under way Saturday, Sept. 29, with the finals scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 4. The club got the nod to host the tournament five years ago and has been planning for three years, according to Stephen Wolsky, general manager.  Wolsky said the championships are part of the club’s 100th anniversary celebration, and are a great way to highlight the Donald J.
