A former Caldwell Police sergeant committed suicide and his wife was murdered inside their Parsippany home, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. School officials removed a student from James Caldwell High School in West Caldwell in December after learning the boy kept a list of eight names in a notebook, according to school officials. School officials locked down Washington Elementary School in West Caldwell for about an hour on a Tuesday afternoon while police investigated reports of a possible gunshot in the area. A local football rivalry turned ugly when teens from opposing high schools got in a brawl shortly after a close game. A gas station attendant is in the hospital after he was apparently struck in the head during a robbery at the Exxon gas station Aug. 13 in Caldwell. The Exxon at 226 Bloomfield Ave. was robbed of almost $1,200 at approximately 4 p.m., according to police. This sketch was released of the assailant.
