Young Adult Lock-In: Les Miserables

Students in grades 6 through 9 invited to spring break lock-in at Caldwell Public Library.

The Caldwell Public Library is hosting a Young Adult Lock-In for students in grades 6 through 9 during spring break on Monday, April 8, at 5:30 p.m.  At the lock-in, the library will show the critically acclaimed film set during the French Revolution, Les Miserables, and serve French refreshments. The musical drama based on Victor Hugo's novel includes Oscar winner Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried.  Jailed for stealing a loaf of bread, Prisoner 24601 (Jean Valjean) is released on parole after a 19-year sentence. As the persistent Inspector Javert pursues him, we’ll follow Valjean’s transition from parole-breaker to mayor to caretaker of a young girl named Cosette. Tuesday is Movie Night at the Library

Grab a handful of friends and reserve a room for a private movie screening.

The Caldwell Public Library has a new feature: Tuesday night movie night for kids. Anyone interested in their own private screening for a group of six or more can reserve space. Choose from any children’s movies in the library’s collection. Reservations may be made for Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. throughout the summer—a guaranteed waterproof activity. To make a reservation, call Mrs. Khost at the library at 973-226-1636. Calandras has to get the word out for the "Cruize Night" they could potentially end up with 200 cars like Walmarts/Boonton Cruize does on Friday nights. This could pack their deli, bakery and restaurant on Mondays with patrons. My husband goes to a Cruize every night of the week. This is a BIG summer draw for car people and spectators.
