The following charges were reported by Fairfield Police and West Caldwell Police. The subject is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. An East Rutherford woman who allegedly kept driving after striking a car in a West Caldwell parking lot on Easter Sunday faces drunk driving charges. Elaine Wisneski, 26, was arrested by Fairfield Police and charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence in a school zone and other motor vehicle violations on Sunday, March 31. About about 8 p.m., Fairfield Police Officer Gerald Veneziano heard a description of a driver believed to be involved in a hit-and-run in West Caldwell. The following charges are merely allegations. The subject is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. A West Caldwell Man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when he allegedly dropped two paper pouches commonly used to package heroin while undergoing an arrest Thursday night, according to Fairfield Police officials. Michael A. Capardi, 22, was arrested on March 14 for having an outstanding warrant issued by the Newark Municipal Court, police said. Capardi was a passenger in a 2010 Infinity that was pulled over while traveling east on Route 46 near Clinton Road at about 11:10 p.m. The car was pulled over by Officer Frank Tracey for allegedly having tinted windows, which are illegal under new New Jersey law. …

Fairifeld police investigating theft of Honda Odyssey from township gas station.
A Paterson man allegedly lied about a carjacking in order to get a quicker response time from police when his minivan was stolen from a Fairifled gas station last week, officials said. Police say Terrence Byrd claimed a car thief brandished a handgun and took his 2013 Honda Odyssey from the A Plus Sunoco station at the intersection of Passaic Avenue and Greenbrook Road on March 5 at approximately 11 p.m. A police investigation revealed Byrd fabricated the part about the gun in order to get officers to the scene quicker, which it did, according to police. A driver working at an auto auction Tuesday struck six men when he lost control of a car after he may have suffered a seizure, according to Fairfield Police. Police said Gregory L. Ross, 38, of Paterson, drove a 2004 BMW into a group of men at Skyline Auto Exchange around noon. The BMW hit the pedestrians and crashed into a 2001 Ford Windstar before coming to a stop, according to the police report. The names of the injured were not released, but police confirmed they are all men between the ages of 31 and 58, and reside in New York, Washington and Maryland.
