West Caldwell Teen Charged With DWI
Fairfield Police also arrested Wayne woman who allegedly crashed into guard rail on Passaic Avenue.
The following reports are merely allegations. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty. A West Caldwell teen is one of three area residents charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated, according to police officials. Harshal Patel, 19, of West Caldwell, was pulled over on Passaic Avenue near Beverly Road just after midnight on Feb. 17, when Fairfield Police Officer R.J. Casendino said he saw Patel driving carelessly. Patel, who was driving a 2010 Honda Civic, underwent sobriety tests but refused to submit to a breathalyzer, police said. He was charged with a DWI, as well as underage consumption of alcohol.
