Police are investigating a burglary that took place in the early morning hours Saturday at a Bloomfield Avenue restaurant in Caldwell. A burglar entered Divina Ristorante, located at 461 Bloomfield Ave., through a locked back door and took an undetermined amount of cash, Caldwell Police Chief James Bongiorno said. The burglary took place sometime between midnight and noon Saturday, Bongiorno said. Police ask anyone who may have information regarding the burglary to contact the Caldwell Police Department Detective Bureau at (973) 226-2600.

Police believe the same man is responsible for more than 150 commercial burglaries in the last two years.
A man suspected of burglarizing five Caldwell restaurants in March has been tied to more than 150 burglaries in northern New Jersey over the last two years, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. The same man who walked off with more than $1,000 after breaking into a handful of Caldwell businesses on March 3 is believed to be responsible for burglaries all around Essex County, as well as Bergen, Passaic and Union counties, Caldwell Police Det. The Caldwell Police Department has released these video surviellance images of a suspect in five Caldwell restaurants burglaries that took place in the same night earlier this month. According to police, a burglar broke through the glass front doors of five Caldwell restaurants during the early morning hours of Saturday, March 3. The burglar reportedly got away with about $1,100 in cash from four of the five establishments. The suspect is believed to be a black male, approximately six-feet tall, with a muscular build and a beard and mustache. He is described as wearing glasses or goggles and a gray hoodie, which was pulled over his head. The burglaries remain under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the incidents should …

Walks away with cash from four establishments.
A burglar broke through the glass front doors of five Caldwell restaurants and walked away with about $1,100 in cash early Saturday morning, according to Caldwell Police. The restaurants—located within blocks of one another—are Hong Kong Chinese Kitchen, Ocha Sushi, Nori Sushi and Genc's Pizza, all on Bloomfield Avenue, and Tony D's Pizzeria, on Hanford Place, Caldwell Det. Lt. Anthony Marta said Monday. Marta said the commercial burglaries are believed to have occurred between 4:30 and 5:15 a.m. Saturday.
