The Caldwell College Music Department is announcing its third season of the Caldwell Children’s Choir Program, which will be held in this fall and in the spring of 2014. This program is open to children ages 8-14 in grades 3-8. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of music through choral study and performance. Audition dates for the fall are: Thursday, June 13, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 8, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 5, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Children should come prepared to sing one verse of either “America” (My Country ‘tis of Thee), “America the Beautiful” or “Happy Birthday. Children ages 8 to 14 are invited to audition for the Caldwell College Music Department's Children's Choir. The open auditions will be held on Thursday Jan. 3, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., with a snow date of Jan. 10. The choir is comprised of children, with unchanged voices, in grades 3 through 8. An audition fee of $15 per family will be charged. Participation in the choir is $175 for one semester or $250 for fall and spring semesters. Children will learn how to read and appreciate music using proper vocal technique and correct posture and breathing methods.
