Women's Club Student Art Contest Now Accepting Submissions

The local contest with Grover Cleveland Park as its theme will run in conjunction with the Caldwell Merchants Association's Art on the Avenue on June 1.

Women's Club of Caldwell is now taking submissions for its Student Art Contest that will take place during Art on the Avenue on June 1.  The art contest is for students in kindergarten through grade 12 and entries will be accepted through May 23. Only one submission per student is permitted. The theme of the contest will be Grover Cleveland Park in celebration of the park's 100th anniversary. All student entries must use the park as its overall theme.   The contest is for two-dimensional art only, and the medium is limited to drawing, illustration and painting. No photographs or copyrighted images will be accepted.  Student submission must be limited to 9 by 12 inches, and must be mounted on cardboard, matte board or foam core.  Entries …

Caldwell's Art on the Avenue Upcoming

The Grover Cleveland Park Conservancy will sponsor a booth featuring local artists' work featuring the Caldwells' most famous park.

Bloomfield Avenue will be transformed into an art gallery on June 1 for Caldwell's Art on the Avenue.  The Caldwell Merchants Association will be holding the event on Bloomfield Avenue between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday, June 1, which will feature local artists' paintings, sculptures, photography and more. Caldwell Merchants Association sponsors annual art show in downtown.

The work of more than three dozen artists and crafters lined Bloomfield Avenue Saturday for the Caldwell Merchants Association's annual Art on the Avenue. Awards were presented at the Winner's Circle on the Green for Best in Show ($500), as well as Awards of Excellence ($150), Awards of Merit ($50) and Honorable Mentions ($25). (See winnners below.) Among the artists was Caldwell resident Brian Bromborsky, a 2001 James Caldwell High School graduate. This was the first Art on the Avenue for the illustrator who attended Ringling College of Art and Design in Florida and teaches kindergarten through eighth grade at Ann Street School in Newark.  Bromborsky said his style ranges from subconscious to free flowing to representational. LAST CHANCE: Deadline for Student Art Contest

Theme of this year's Women's Club contest is "Springtime." Artwork will be displayed during Art on the Avenue on Saturday, June 9.

The Women’s Club of Caldwell is sponsoring a Student Art Contest in conjunction with the Caldwell Merchant’s Association Art on the Avenue on Saturday, June 9. Students in kindergarten through 12th grade are invited to participate in the contest. All entries must be submitted by Friday, June 1, to The Coloring Room, 287 Bloomfield Ave., Caldwell. The theme of this year’s contest is “Springtime.” Student artwork will be grouped for judging in four categories; Kindergarten to Second Grade, Third through Fifth Grade, Sixth trough Eighth Grade and Ninth through Twelfth Grade. Art on the Avenue Seeks Artists, Crafters

Applications now available for June 9 art display and sale along Bloomfield Avenue in Caldwell.

The streets of downtown Caldwell will once again be lined with works of art when the Caldwell Merchants Association’s Art on the Avenue returns on Saturday, June 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fine artists and crafters interested in displaying and selling their work at Art on the Avenue can find an application at www.caldwellmerchants.com. Applications are also available at Lovely Living Interiors in Caldwell, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. All mediums are welcome and each artist will be provided with an 8-foot by 12-foot length of fencing on which to display their work.
