The West Caldwell-Caldwell Chiefs travel 14U softball team defeated South Orange-Maplewood Monday to win the 2013 Spring Suburban League Championship. After starting the season with a record 1-1, the Chiefs reeled off 10 consecutive wins to finish the season 11-1. Pictured above from left to right are:

The Caldwell Chiefs Camp will run from July 8-12.
Give your child the extra edge this fall football season by sending him to the Caldwell Athletic Club's week-long summer football camp. The Caldwell Chiefs Camp will run between July 8-12 from 8:45 to 11:30 a.m. at the Kiwanis Oval. The football camp is for students entering grades four through nine and the cost is $125 per child. The camp is designed to give every athlete a solid foundation in the basic fundamentals of the sport, whether he is playing offence, defense or special teams. The drills and techniques taught during the camp will help the young athletes in the upcoming football season in the fall. Jets running back Mike Goodson was sent to a Morris County jail following his arrest on drug and weapons charges in Denville Friday. Goodson, 25, was the passenger in a GMC Yukon stopped in the left center lane of I-80 West when a tow truck came upon them and called 911 early Friday morning, according to multiple reports. The tow truck driver reportedly was concerned about the intoxicated condition in which he found Goodson and the driver of the Yukon. The win again Mount Saint Dominic Monday captures the American Division title in the Super Essex Conference with a 19-3 record for Livingston.
Livingston beats out Mount St. Domonic 8-3 in Monday's girls' softball game in Caldwell, winning Livingston the Super Essex Conference's American Division. Both teams play on Friday at 6 and 8 p.m. in South Orange for the Essex County Tournament semifinals at Ivy Hill Park, according to NJ.com.
The West Caldwell department beat Caldwell 9-7.

Aaron Rhaney, who will attend the Mississippi university next year, helped the James Caldwell High School secure a Essex County Golf Tournament title this year.
James Caldwell High School senior Aaron Rhaney signed a letter of intent to play golf at Jackson State University in Mississippi next year. In his first season with the high school, Rhaney played varsity golf. He was also the only high school freshman in the Super Essex Conference to make all conference in 2010. In 2009, Rhaney qualified for The U.S. Kids Teen World Championship at Pinehurst No. 8 and competed in the Garden State Challenge Cup representing the Bergen Pioneer Tour. He also finished second in the Bergen Pioneer Tour Player of the Year point standings in 2009 and 2010.
