West Essex Regional Middle School serves the municipalities of North Caldwell, Essex Fells, FairfieldMore and Roseland. 

Parents from the four municipalities once paid tuition for their children to attend schools in the Caldwell-West Caldwell district. On May 16, 1957, residents voted on the proposal to merge the four municipalities with Caldwell and West Caldwell into one district. However, residents of Caldwell and West Caldwell voted against the proposal and plans for the West Essex district were soon underway. In July 1958, a $290,000 plan was approved for a North Caldwell site  for the West Essex middle and high schools.

Gould School is an intermediate-level school, serving approximately 260 North Caldwell fourth-to-sixth-graders.

In addition to receiving instruction on reading/language arts, math, science, social studies and writing, students also receive 40 minutes of either physical education, vocal music, art, technology or library skills each day.

North Caldwell Community Pool

The North Caldwell Community Pool, located next to Liberty Field, features a six lane, 25-meter pool, complete with aMore shallow wading area and a deep end for diving. There are two fun slides as well as a diving board. 

The pool area has several activity facilities. There are basketball and volleyball courts, ping pong tables, a playing area, and a kiddie pool. Chairs and umbrellas are provided and there is a snack bar for food and refreshments.

The North Caldwell Community Pool features its own swim team, who are always looking for new members. Meets for the swim team usually start within the last week of June and continue through the third week of July. Divisional and championship meets are held near the end of July. Practice begins daily once school lets out for summer, Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 9:30am.

Not a very good swimmer? The North Caldwell Community Pool offers swim lessons to pool members. There are five sessions to choose from (members are not limited to just one session) and are instructed by lifeguards. These lifeguards are certified WSI instructors and are qualified to teach swimming to children and adults. Swim school takes place during the summer months from 11 to 11:45am.

Grandview School

Grandview School offers classes for preschool-aged students to third grade. The school provides either morning orMore afternoon preschool classes Monday through Thursday or full-day preschool classes Monday through Friday.
North Caldwell Fire Department

A group of residents began the North Caldwell Volunteer Fire Department in 1922 after one of the local saw mills wasMore destroyed by fire. The department remains completely comprised by volunteers from the community.

The department's 28 active members include retirees, contractors, engineers, accountants, college students, salesmen and government workers. Members must be 18 years old and need to complete an application that includes a medical and police background check and completion of a physical test and basic fire training school.

The department has recently started a Junior Firemen Program, which is for young men and women, ages 16 to 18. Several members of the inaugural group have since become active members of the department. There are four current Junior Firemen who attend drills, answer fire calls and attend fire training school.

Trinity Academy

Trinity Academy is cosponsored by the parishes of St. Aloysius in Caldwell, Notre Dame in North Caldwell and Our LadyMore of the Blessed Sacrament in Roseland. The school's primary mission is to provide students with the means for growth in Christian principles and the pursuit of academic excellence.
