The Caldwell Police Department responds to approximately 15,000 calls each year. Since 2004, the department'sMore dispatch system has been handled by the West Caldwell Police Department.

Caldwell's 19-member department is led by Chief Kurt Dombrowski, who has been with the department for 27 years. The small department also features two lieutenants, one of whom is always on duty, a two-man detective bureau and a one-man traffic division.

During the summer, the department uses eight bicycles to help patrol the streets.

Newly appointed chief Tony Grenci leads a group of 40 volunteer firefighters who receive approximately 200 - 250More calls each year.

The department will soon launch a Junior Firefighters program that will enable 16 to 18-year-olds the opportunity to receive hands-on experience while assisting the firefighters.

North Caldwell Police Department

Capt. Mark Deuer is the officer-in-charge with the pending retirement of Chief Joseph Clark. Deuer leads a squad ofMore 14 officers. The small department includes one detective.

Parking is prohibited on borough roadways each night from 2 to 6am. If a vehicle must be parked on the road, call the police desk to avoid being ticketed.
