The West Caldwell Police Department features 30 officers, including three detectives, one civilian dispatcher, a clerk and 10 school crossing guards.

The department includes a traffic division, detective bureau, juvenile division and a five-person EMT unit. Members of the department are continuously trained in firearms proficiency, baton handling, RADAR operation, Breathalyzer, Right to Know, hazardous materials handling, bias crime, environmental crime, domestic violence, criminal investigations, narcotics investigation, traffic investigations and daily updates in law.
