I have been to Rose many times with my wife, and we LOVE the food there. Joe and the staff are excellent, and some of the dishes are the best I have had anywhere, including the swanky NYC restaurants that people rave about.
To give you an idea how much I like their food, I've had Rose cater to my business' social functions. I take who I associate with very seriously, as I feel it reflects upon me and my business. Without hesitation, Rose can feed me and my clients ANYTIME.
Very good. Food excellent and seems cooked to order. The only negative is the service. They have been in business awhile and should have this down to a science. Service is very slow.
Amazing food, truly authentic Mediterranean cuisine (ie: not just Italian!) I have eaten at Rose about 5 times thus far, yet to be disappointed. Eat in the outdoor patio if possible, it's divine.
A small group of us just came from Rose on this Thursday night and enjoyed some great food and entertainment by Johnny T. We can't wait until Thursday June 16th for them to do it again. If you like “oldies tunes” performed by a authentic oldies legend, bring your friends and you'll have great time. As for Chef Joe the owner, he does it all to make you feel welcome and satisfied that you came. I can't say enough about how good this local restaurant is! YOU HAVE TO EXPERIENCE THIS PLACE FOR YOURSELF! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. YOU'LL SEE. - We'll see you there.
If you are looking to find a restaurant that your friends and family will love and want to go back to, it is Rose. I am not sure what Debbie is talking about as far as the manager/chef being rude or unprofessional. The times I have been to Rose, I have felt welcomed and appreciated. In fact, the first time I went there, I was with my mother-in-law who has mobility issues. The busboy held the door open for her and Rebecca (the manager) kindly walked us to our table. They made sure as we were leaving that they would assist us on our way out as well, and they did. My mother-in-law was excited to meet Chef Joe who kindly walked over to our table and introduced himself to us. You could tell by hearing him speak about his travels all over the world, that he truly is passionate about his cooking. And, from eating there now about 5 times and trying many of the menu items and specials, I can assure you that Chef Joe and the kitchen staff definitely cook from their hearts. Oh, and the desserts are amazing!! (But try to save room for them!) I also think that the staff at Rose is very professional. We have had a few different waiters, Mike, Luke and Alex. They all have been knowledgeable about the menu and eager to answer any questions we've had. The staff at Rose, as a whole has done a lot to make my family and friends feel welcome, as well as prove to us by the food, that we should return again soon--which we will!
You all are probably tired of hearing from me about Rose. We are very fortunate in the Caldwell area to have such fine restaurants in town. Rose has improved their decor, the wait staff is so friendly and efficient it just makes the dining experience that much better. The feeling is that you are in another place at another time.
Chef Joe provides the dining experience with dishes that are impeccable to the taste. This is a true gem and a must visit.

The food is excellent. Something for everyone. If you want to explore some new dishes, this is the place for you. If you like standard fare, not a problem. I had the Swordfish with the crab infused rosoto. Very good. They are still working out the service kinks. I think they were overwhelmed with the amount of people cming to eat there. A definite return for me and should be a definite try for all of you.

Well, I returned 2 weeks later and was more pleased than the first time. I had the Osso Bucco special and it was unbelievably good. The TriColor salad..the only problem was it was to big to finish and also delish. The creme brulee was prepared differently and was outstanding. You have to try Rose!
A group of 7 met for dinner at Rose's this past Friday. The food was amazing and such a refreshing array of choices. I enjoyed a Serrano ham wrapped scallop dish with wonderful herbs and perfectly prepared! Paella is either good or it is bad, well this was great! I can share with you that everyone at the table was full, happy, and delighted with their meal selections. My daughter and her friend (both 8 years old) passed on the children's menu and ordered veal and filet...well how could we refuse! It was gobbled up! Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy Rose's soon!
An exceptional and excellent restaurant. Your time at Rose will be one of the best dining experiences you have ever had. From the tasty and different menu to the friendly and efficient staff there is no better resturant. GO NOW!!
