I reactivated my account to respond to something else and saw this comment from alex c

@alex c.- Genc's down the road is always packed too- bc it's decent pizza for the price, nothing serious- it's NOT packed bc of it's gourmet food. Clearly, YOU have never experienced pizza outside of Caldwell? You probably think Calandra's bakery is the best as well? Why don't you expand your palate and try something, like Rockland Bakery in New York.

AND yes, I do want to attack Forte's quality of their food. I've been there a handful of times, stopped going, and recently went AGAIN. I ordered a slice of pizza bc it was convenient to run in, still had an issue with the crust. I am by no means impressed by their pizza, hence I don't go there. Why don't you try their Ceasar Salad pizza, and come back with a mouth full of chipped teeth
FYI- Do you even know what ignorance means? I am making a statement bc I have been to Forte's. Ignorance would me making a statement with no grounds to stand on. Given I HAVE tried their pizza, even trying it a couple times following, I'd say my opinion has backbone.

Their pizza is just plain mediocre. The best Pizza in the Caldwell's in my opinion is Tony D's with Angeloni's being 2nd runner up.

Best Pasta Fagioli and Escarole & Bean soups I've had in a very long time.
(excluding my mom's)

Very poor. The pizza is very average. The entrees are terrible. One of the worst lasagna dishes I have every had. They cook ahead of time and microwave. The gravy is definitely store bought. If it is homemade then they should use store bought. Tried it on 3 different occasions and finally they struck out. It seems crowded but I do not know why.

Good food, good selection. Food quality and menu options don't really stand out. It's your standard pizzeria with nothing spectacular. Prices are very expensive for what you get.

Anyone that attacks the quality of food at Forte's is not much of a frequent diner in my opinion, because Forte uses top of the line ingredients in all their dishes as i have asked due to allergies - and to attack the quanity? Their portions are more than plentiful, especially considering the price of entree- which is completely reasonable. There is a reason why the dining room and pizzeria are separated. It's not called Forte's Pizzeria, it's Forte's Pizzeria & Ristorante, they cater to both customer needs- so if your child wants pizza you can order your entree in the pizzeria, and if it's not what you are looking for then there are tons of other places, but do not try to discredit great business and great food for your ignorance in dining.

and THAT is why Forte's is always packed!

forte's in randolph is better. i went to forte's in caldwell a handful of times b/c 'apparently' it was the place to go for pizza. definitely not impressed. the crust almost broke my teeth the one time. they have a decent selection as far as variety of pizza, BUT quanity doesn't match up to the quality of their food. caldwell forte's needs to step it up in their kitchen.
you want good pizza, try rusillo's down the street or godfather's in east hanover.

All I am saying is that if it was as bad as you say, why is the place always packed. Tony D does 1/4 of the volume as fortes. The Patch chose Vitellas and they went out of business 6 months later. Done.

Down hill Dan? They do the best business in town. Rusillos is WC is also very good but cant handle the volume that Forte can. Forte is crazy busy all the time and have been for 12 years. Maybe Verona Pizza is more your speed? How about Michaels in WC? Always plenty of seating there.

Yes, downhill. As in "got lazy". I grew up during the period when pizza was made by people who actually knew what they were doing, hence my reference to The Pros. Today’s “pizzamen” are little more than canned-sauce junkies. All you need to do is go back in time and you’ll see what I mean.

In Caldwell, Tony D's blows the competition away, despite what the kids at Caldwell College say (they chose Sandwich Barn, not Forte). The Patch chose Vitella’s. Even then, the best pizza comes from my kitchen because I got tired of paying people to not know what they were doing.

"Okay" when it first opened, but quickly went downhill. The crust is sub-par and tastes like they rush the process instead of giving it a long cold-cure like the pros do. Also, they need to lose their attitude regarding the dining room. If a family comes in and orders from the dining room menu, and one of the kids just wants a slice of pizza, don't force the entire family into the pizzeria dining area.

Overall, there's a lot of competition in a bad economy, and not offering the absolute best product you can is going to run you out of business.
