Founded in 1975, Essex Valley School is a private, nonprofit middle and high school for students classified with behavioral disorders.

The fundamental purpose of Essex Valley School is to provide a therapeutic and academic environment that is designed to nurture the emotional, intellectual, behavioral and social growth of each student so that he/she may become a contributing member of society.

For those students who wish to attend vocational or technical programs, Essex Valley School offers a half-day academic schedule. Vocational programs in culinary arts and cosmetology are being developed for implementation during this school year.
