Monday is Columbus Day. The Caldwell-West Caldwell School District will have regularly scheduled classes.

School not be in session Monday for the West Essex Regional School District as staff will take part in professional development programs.   

The Caldwell-West Caldwell Board of Education will convene Monday for a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the district's central building, at 104 Gray St. in West Caldwell.

The Caldwell Borough Council will convene for a conference Tuesday at 7 p.m. at borough hall, 1 Provost Square. 

The West Caldwell Council will convene for a regular meeting Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. at town hall, at 30 Clinton Road. 

Wednesday voters will go to the polls to elect a new Senator to fill the late Frank Lautenberg's seat. Newark Mayor and Democrat Cory Booker will face off against Republican and former mayor of Bogota Steven Lonegan.
