Toni's Kitchen Hosts Summer Berry Bake-Off

Great prizes for a great cause—helping feed the hungry in the community.

The Grover Cleveland Birthplace  on the 4th of July. Now  in Montclair invites the community to its first annual Summer Berry Bake-Off and Bake Sale.

The kitchen's highly competitive judging panel, which includes Montclair bakeries—, , and the —will decide 1st, 2nd, and 3rd winners for each category.

All entries in the Summer Berry Bake-Off must be a type of baked good using berries.

Prizes in the adult category include dinner for two at Albert’s, the new and much talked-about restaurant on Church Street and a gift card for with accompanying treats that include Nielson Massey Pure Vanilla, baking books, and more.

There will be special prizes for our “Tweens and Teens” category and for “Children aged 10 and Under.”

Registration and contest rules can be found on the website at www.toniskitchen.org. The entry fee is $10 per baked item for adults, tweens, and teens. The fee for children 10 and under is $3. Entry fee on the day of the event is $15 per item; $5 for children’s entries. 

The Summer Berry Bake-Off and Bake Sale will take place on the lawn in front of St. Luke's Church, 73 South Fullerton Ave., on Sunday, July 22, at 11:30 a.m. Judging will begin at noon. In the event of inclement weather (rain or too hot) the event will move indoors to the Assembly Hall.

Join in as a contestant or donate an item to the Bake Sale or just come shop for yummy treats. Funds raised through the Summer Berry Bake-Off and Bake Sale will be used to serve meals to those who are hungry and in need in the community.
