Pet Of The Week: Nickie On The Hunt For A Home

This playful puppy's trusty nose has picked up the scent of a welcoming home here in the Caldwells. 

Nickie is a young dog and most likely a mix between a German shepherd and labrador retriever. She has short black-, brown- and chocolate-colored fur. You can adopt her now from Orphaned Pets Inc. of West Caldwell. 

Nickie was given to the shelter by her owner. Nickie is gentle, knows simple commands but needs a little training on walking with a leash — and she is up for the task if you are!

Nickie weighs about 54 pounds, is in fit shape, is spayed, up to date on routine shots and micro-chipped.

Orphaned Pets holds adoption clinics at local PETCOs around Essex County every Saturday of the month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Orphaned Pet will be at the following locations throughout the month: 

• 1st Saturday of the month: PETCO, 339 Pompton Avenue, Verona 
• 2nd Saturday of the month: PETCO, Route 10 West, East Hanover
• 3rd Saturday of the month:PETCO, Route 46 West, Totowa
• 4th Saturday of the month: PETCO, Route 46 East, Parsippany
