Volunteers Hang Flags in Downtown

American flags donated by Project Main Street displayed in time for Memorial Day parade.

Bloomfield Avenue is dressed for next Monday's West Essex Memorial Day Parade.

Project Main Street volunteers woke up early Sunday morning to hang 30 American flags on lightposts along the business district in Caldwell.

The flags, hardware and brackets were purchased by Project Main Street, a nonprofit organization, with money raised in the community. This is the third year the flags are displayed and they will remain up through Sept. 11.
