Register for Percussion Camp at Caldwell College

The camp will run from June 24-28.

Caldwell College will hold a summer percussion camp from June 24-28.

Sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. that week. The camp, directed by Alex Bocchino, adjunct professor of music at Caldwell College, is open to students in middle school through college.

Students will be exposed to new concepts and skills in all facets of percussion including world drumming, drum set, classical percussion and percussion ensemble. They will participate in master classes, daily percussion ensemble rehearsals and classes in technique, performance development and other percussion-related topics.

Clinicians and guest artists from the New York metropolitan area will include Glen Fittin ("Lion King") and Joe Bergamini, ("Jersey Boys," "Rock of Ages" and "Spiderman"), who will work with students individually and in ensembles.

Session topics will include world drumming, drumset and mallet techniques and rehearsals of percussion ensemble pieces.  Students will develop new tools and ideas to carry them forward in their musical studies. The camp will end with a performance on June 28 that will be open to the public.

Tuition is $499 for the full week and $125 for day passes. Lunch is included.

A 50-percent deposit is due by June 10. A 10-percent discount ($50) for payment of full tuition has been extended to Monday, June 17. Checks should be made payable to Caldwell College.
