The Chiefs running game propelled them to their 4th win of the season.

James Caldwell High School won its fourth game of the season against Barringer High School this weekend.

The Chiefs football team beat the Newark school 12-63 on Saturday in Newark. Barringer scored its only points in the first quarter, and then were shut out the remainder of the game by James Caldwell's staunch defense, according to NJ.com.

Propelling the Chiefs to victory were touchdown runs by James Stille, Ray Iodice, A.J. Curtiss and quarterback Joe Salter, according to the article. Salter also threw a touchdown passes to each Jack Kinney and Sean Clarkin, according to NJ.com.

In addition to two successful field goal attempts by Kinney, Dylan Soriente intercepted a pass in the third quarter and ran it back for a 34-yard pick-6, according to NJ.com.

James Caldwell, now 4-1 on the season, will take on Orange High School (3-3) Saturday, Oct. 26, at 2 p.m. at home on Bonnel Field.
