Former Knight Makes History at Muhlenberg

West Essex graduate Kayleigh Thies led team in goals and assists.

West Essex graduate Kayleigh Thies, a sophomore on the Muhlenberg College field hockey team, was recently named to the All-Centennial Conference second team.

Thies returned as a forward in 2012 and started in all 16 games, according to a release from the school. She led the team in both goals (5) and assists (6), contributing 16 points to her previous 27 career points.

The former Knight is only the second player in Muhlenberg history to achieve double digits in goals (16) and assists (11) after two seasons.

Thies is a resident of North Caldwell.

Muhlenberg finished the 2012 season with a 9-7 record, four wins better than in 2011.
