Caldwell Comes Up Short In Championship Game

The James Caldwell High School Chiefs finished the season 10-2.

Caldwell fell to Mountain Lakes Saturday and failed to capture a NJSIAA State Championship. 

James Caldwell High School lost to Mountain Lakes 26-6 at Kean University. The two high schools were competing in the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 2 Tournament Final.  

Caldwell was shut out for the first three quarters of the game, according to NJ.com. The Chiefs' only points came from a 14-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Joe Salter to Jack Kinney, according to the article. 

In addition, Salter finished 10 of 31 for 127 yards, with one touchdown, four interceptions, and 44 yards rushing, according to the article. Caldwell's Ray Iodice was held to just 4 yards rushing on nine attempts, according to NJ.com. 

On defense, Caldwell's Brendan Peter recorded one sack, according to the article. 

The Chiefs finished the season 10-2.
