I took over on July 17 of this year.

What made you want to own a business in town?

I worked at this same Carvel while I was a student at Caldwell College. I remember adoring the customers and seeing how happy everyone is when they come and get ice cream.

And it was a nice career change from my old job selling advertising.

What do you think your biggest challengers are as a small business owner in town so far?

The increase in competition of ice cream and frozen yogurt shops that have popped up recently is probably the biggest challenge.

So how do you set yourself apart?

We do custom cakes here for every birthday and holiday. It’s costume made to order!

What are you most proud of?

I think we’ve brought new life into the Carvel here and brought in a new soft ice-cream machine.

We are also looking forward to getting more involved with the community, such as participating in the Caldwell Street Fair and the West Caldwell Gazebo Concert Series.
