Washington Students Create Holiday Cards for U.S. Military

School participates in American Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes program.

Washington Elementary School students worked hard to help lift the spirits of U.S. military members during the holidays.

The students from the West Caldwell school participated in the American Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes program, creating 1,023 handmade greeting cards to help morale. The program also provides students with lessons in compassion and citizenship.

The cards will be delivered to service members by the American Red Cross.

The effort was coordinated by Washington School Health and Physical Education teacher Sheila Zeman and Washington School Principal Barbara Adams.
