The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research, will host one of its signature head-shaving events at West Essex High School on Monday, June 16 from 3 to 5 p.m.,

Several students and faculty will shave their heads in solidarity with kids with cancer and raise money to Conquer Childhood Cancers!

This year’s event will honor a West Essex senior, Alison Hale, who was diagnosed earlier this year with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She is currently in remission.

Hale's optimism has been admirable and has been inspiring to those around her.

There will also be a bake sale and a $2 fee to raise funds to enter and watch peers, coworkers, and friends shave their heads.

More than $7,000 was raised during last year's event. You can also donate online here: http://www.stbaldricks.org/teams/knights
