James Caldwell High's Sports Hall Of Fame Gets New Members

Since 1990, a total of 76 former athletes, coaches and administrators have been added to the hall of fame.

For the first time since 1997, the James Caldwell High School Athletic Hall of Fame will induct a new class. 

On Friday, March 21, the following 11 former JCHS student athletes will be honored: 

  • Lew Lockward, 1958
  • Wayne Masters, 1987
  • Val Monaco 1990
  • Jen Luker 1992
  • Blake Maffei 1992
  • Robert Masella 1993
  • Amanda Petronaci 1996
  • Anthony Casciano 1996
  • Kirsten Rossotti 1998
  • Robert D’Innocenzio 1999
  • Tom Edwards 2004

Coach Barbara Cordasco and retired athletic director Ron San Filippo will also be inducted into the hall of fame, and the 1997-98 football State Championship team will be recognized.

The JCHS Athletic Hall of Fame was started by Coach Ken Trimmer and the Caldwell Gridiron Club in 1990. The first class of inductees included Olympic gold medalist Tom Courtney, long time athletic director “Chief” Harris Bonnel, and Caldwell’s three sport star, Tom Martin. 

Since its inception in 1990, a total of 76 former athletes, coaches, and administrators have been installed inducted as members of the James Caldwell High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Tom Edwards, a member of this recent group of inductees, is a third-generation member of the Edwards family being inducted. His grandfather, Alfie Edwards, was a member of the inaugural group in 1990. His mother Mary McHugh Edwards was a member of the last group that was inducted 1997.

Cordasco was the driving force behind the introduction of girls’ athletics at JCHS. During her outstanding career, Barbara Cordasco coached volleyball, basketball, and softball.

The induction ceremony in March will be held at 6 p.m. at Mayfair Farms in West Orange. Tickets are $75.
