Jefferson Students Learn Spirit of Giving

Second annual "Make-It and Take-It Event" a success.

Students at Jefferson Elementary School in West Caldwell participated in a fun and festive evening in preparation for the holidays at the second annual “Make-It and Take-It Event.”

Students had the opportunity to make beautiful handmade crafts for family and friends. Craft stations were set up in the gymnasium to create a variety of gifts which included ornaments, cookie and soup mix jars, decorated picture frames, yarn vases and magic reindeer food. There was also festive holiday music to get participants in the spirit, as well as complimentary refreshments and gift wrapping.

“This is a great way for kids to learn that giving presents to loved ones during the holiday season is just as important as receiving gifts—and it can also be a lot of fun!” stated Jefferson School Principal Tim Ayers.
