Jefferson Students Collect Hundreds of Toys for Homeless Children

It will truly be a brighter holiday season for those staying at St. Rocco's.

Students at Jefferson Elementary School in West Caldwell surpassed expectations with the number of toys collected for the St. Rocco’s toy drive which ends on Friday, Dec. 21. An estimated 400 toys were donated by students and their families!

“At a time when we could all use a reminder of how much good there is in the world, it is heartwarming to see how many members in our Jefferson family of students, parents, faculty and staff have given so generously to those in need,” said Jefferson Principal Tim Ayers. “I feel extremely fortunate to be part of such a great community.”

Coach Ken Trimmer from James Caldwell High School organized the toy drive to benefit children at the St. Rocco’s family shelter in Newark. In addition to toys, Jefferson families donated clothing and toiletries for the adults at the shelter.
