James Caldwell High School Singers to Open for Rockettes at Radio City

Madrigal Singers will perform in Radio City Christmas Spectacular next month.

The Madrigal Singers from James Caldwell High School in West Caldwell have been invited to perform at Radio City Musical Hall in New York on Wednesday, Dec. 12.

The group will perform a five-minute acapella medley of bell songs, including “Ding-a-Ding-a-Ding,” “Ding Dong Merrily on High” and “Jingle Bells,” as part of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.

The Rockettes are celebrating the 85th anniversary of the great New York City holiday tradition this season.

Choral director Elsie Timpson said she wasn’t sure how the group was chosen, but she’s glad they were.

“I received an invitation addressed to the JCHS Madrigal Singers,” Timpson stated in a release from Caldwell-West Caldwell Schools. “I really don’t know who generated the invitation, but we are very excited to be performing at the show.”
