Montclair High School National Organization for Women Club (NOW) in conjunction with Montclair March Mathness announces a screening of WonderWomen!: The Untold Story of American Superheroines, a film by Kristy Guevara-Flanagan, on March 1 at 7:30 in the MHS Auditorium. WonderWomen!: The Untold Story of American Superheroines traces the evolution and legacy of Wonder Woman. From the birth of the comic book superheroine in the 1940s to the blockbusters of today, WonderWomen! looks at how popular representations of powerful women often reflect society’s anxieties about women’s liberation.

The Essex County Choral Project

The history of Essex County will be brought to life with over two hundred and fifty singers from seven Essex County choirs on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 4:00 PM at the Newark Museum’s Engelhard Court.  The event, co-sponsored by the Rutgers Institute on Ethnicity, Culture and the Modern Experience and the Newark Arts Council, will celebrate the historical and cultural richness of Essex County.  The concert will feature narration by Dr. Clement Price (Board of Governors Distinguished Service Professor, Rutgers-Newark) and will conclude with two festival pieces conducted by Jacques Lacombe, Music Director of the New Jersey Symphony
