James Caldwell High Student Athletes Collect Hundreds of Coats For The Needy

The teams also collected more than 100 non-perishable items for the Caldwell Food Bank during a recent home game.

Local high school students pitched in and helped those less fortunate stay warm this winter. 

The boys and girls James Caldwell High School junior varsity and varsity basketball teams collected more than 200 coats — the large majority being children's coats — in support of the recent Jersey Cares Coat Drive.  

Bins were placed in all the local schools and the coats were sorted, packed and delivered by the student athletes.

The coats were delivered to the West Caldwell Police Department, which was a Jersey Cares Coat Drive drop-off site.  

The teams also collected more than 100 non-perishable items for the Caldwell Food Bank during a recent home game that will go toward helping those in need in the area.
