Four Caldwell Students Accepted into Regional Choruses

Meredith Donlin, Jenna DeVincenzo, Nicole Bruno and Madeline Caracappa selected for prestigious group.

Caldwell-West Caldwell School Music Supervisor Scott Chamberlain announced that four students from James Caldwell High School have been accepted into the North Jersey Region I Choruses.

Freshman Meredith Donlin, alto I, and junior Jenna DeVincenzo, alto II, were accepted into the NJ Region 1 Honors Mixed Chorus; and sophomore Nicole Bruno, alto I, and junior Madeline Caracappa, soprano II, were accepted into the NJ Region 1 Honors Women’s Chorus.

Auditions were held on Jan. 4, where the students auditioned with nearly 600 hundred performers from the seven northern NJ counties. Performers had to demonstrate a variety of vocal skills, including diatonic major scales sung one octave ascending and then descending, chromatic scales, a memorized solo judged on quality, intonation and musicianship, and tonal memory. Performers with the highest scores are accepted into the Regional groups.

"I am always proud of our students who audition,” stated Elsie Timpson, JCHS Choral Director. “I see how hard all of the students work, and after attending the concerts, I am even more impressed by the talent in all of our schools.”
