Education Foundations Get in the Swing of Things

Get ready to hit the links for two good causes in October.

The Caldwell-West Caldwell Education Foundation (CWCEF) and the West Essex Foundation for Education (WEFE) will both be holding golf fundraisers next month.

The CWCEF will be holding its first annual golf outing on Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Mountain Ridge Country Club, 713 Passaic Ave., in West Caldwell. 

Registration begins at 11 a.m., and a light lunch will be served before the shotgun start at noon. Beer, wine and appetizers will be served following the outing at Calandra's Italian Village, 234 Bloomfield Ave., from 5:30 to 7 p.m. 

The Mountain Ridge Country Club features 6,803 yards of golf from the longest tee. Competition will be a team best ball format with all golfers submitting scores. A maximum of 72 golfers will be able to participate. 

All proceeds from the CWCEF Golf Outing will enhance the educational experience of the students enrolled in the Caldwell-West Caldwell School District.

The West Essex Foundation for Education will host a golf invitational on Monday, Oct. 18, at Essex Fells Country Club, 219 Devon Road, Essex Fells.

Breakfast and registration will be at 7:30 a.m. with shotgun at 9 a.m. There will be cocktails, lunch and prizes at 1 p.m.

The mission of WEFE is to enhance the quality of education in the West Essex School District by providing financial support for innovative programs that enrich student achievement and promote excellence in education.
