The school year begins on Sept. 9.
Parents from the beaches hoping to get a jump on planning activities around next year's Caldwell-West Caldwell school calendar are in luck. The district has released its list of important dates for the 2013-14 school year.
Here is a rundown of important dates for the upcoming school year. A printable calendar can be found in the photo gallery of this article.
Labor Day is Sept. 2, and is followed by Rosh Hashanah later that week on Sept. 5-6.
The school year begins on Sept. 9.

For those planning their costumes now, Halloween is on a Thursday.
Election day is Nov. 5 and elementary school students will have a half-day.

The New Jersey Education Association convention will be Nov. 7-8 and students will be closed those days.
Parent teacher conferences will be Nov. 12 and 14, and elementary school students will have an early dismissal.
All students will have a half-day of school on Nov. 27 and school will be out on Nov. 28-29 for Thanksgiving.
Parent teacher conferences at Grover Cleveland Middle School will be Dec. 3 and middle school students will have an early dismissal.
All students will have an early dismissal on Dec. 23 and school will be out on Dec. 24-31 and Jan. 1 for Christmas break.
Students will have off on Jan. 20 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Schools will be closed Feb. 17-18 for winter recess.
Parent teacher conferences will be April 7 and 10, and elementary school students will have early dismissal.
Spring break will be April 14-18 and schools will be out.
Memorial Day is May 26 and schools will be out.
The primary election will be held June 3 and elementary school students will have an early dismissal.
June 19 will the last day of school for students and it will be an half-day.
The James Caldwell High School class of 2014 will graduate on June 19.
