Columbia High School is Action-Packed

The annual showcase of extra-curricular activities drew a crowd

Robotics, fencing, Special Dance, Shakespeare, chess, and lots and lots of students filled the hall of Columbia High School on Wednesday  for the annual CHS in Action night. Eighth graders and their parents were invited to preview activities, and the evening showcased performance groups, sports teams, the science fair, and clubs of every kind.

Members of the public attended, along with parents of current students, and kids who came along simply to watch their CHS friends perform magic in the Black Box, talk up Italian culture in the hallways, or try out a hovercraft in the hallways. Students even tried their skill at putting, thanks to CHS golfers

The science fair was set up in the cafeteria; Brett Ascher won for a project entitled "Pretty Please?"

For rising ninth graders, the night was exciting. Many MMS and SOMS students attended to consider what the fall has to offer. Nervous students can take comfort; , thanks to students at Montrose. And for those who can't wait until next year, CHS has a tomorrow.

First things first, however. The evening ended at 9 p.m., in plenty of time to get home and finish homework.
