Possible Explosives Investigated at North Caldwell Home

Nearby residents of Evergreen Drive home were evacuated for several hours Saturday.

What started as a domestic disturbance call, turned into an investigation of explosive materials in North Caldwell on Saturday, according to The Alternative Press.

North Caldwell Police responded to a home domestic disturbance call on Evergreen Drive at about 1:30 p.m., The Alternative Press article said. 

Two brothers were found fighting at the residence and one of them said the other had bomb-making materials inside the home, the article said.

The Essex County Bomb Squad and other agencies investigated the materials. It was not immediately known what types of materials were found.

Area residents were evacuated from their homes for several hours and returned at about 4 p.m., the article said.
