Police: 2013 BMW Stolen From Fairview Avenue Driveway

A neighbor's security camera captured the theft on Monday morning.

A car was stolen from a North Caldwell home on Monday, marking the first motor vehicle theft in the borough in more than three months.

At around 3:40 a.m. on Monday, a 2013 5-Series BMW was stolen from a driveway on Fairview Avenue, said North Caldwell Police Chief Mark Deuer. The owner of the car was unsure whether he left his keys or a valet key in the car.

Police were given access to a neighbor’s security system, which captured the Monday morning theft. The video showed a car pulling into the Fairview Avenue home’s driveway and then someone getting out of the car. Soon after,  both the BMW and first car were seen pulling out of driving away together and driving away.
