Paterson Woman Flips Car on Rt. 46

From the Fairfield Police Department:

On April 15 at approximately 6:26 a.m., the Fairfield Police Department responded to a single car motor vehicle crash on Route 46 West near Madison Road.

Upon arrival, the officers observed a 2002 Mitsubishi on its side against a utility pole. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, identified as Gilberto Tapia-Rodriguez of Paterson was uninjured.

An investigation conducted by Officer Thomas Myers revealed that the vehicle was attempting to exit Route 46 West onto Madison Road when it is alleged that Tapia-Rodriguez could not negotiate the turn, striking the curb of a concrete island divider, hitting a rock and then overturning.

A summons for careless driving was issued.
