New Faces on the Force: Officer Maier

Get to know West Caldwell Police Department's first female officer.

Three probationary police officers were  last month. The following bio on Kristin Maier was provided by the WCPD:

Patrol Officer Kristin Maier graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1999 and received her associate’s degree in English at Middlesex County College in 2005. She earned a bachelor’s in psychology from Montclair State University in 2007, where she worked on campus at The Children’s Center as a Teacher’s Aid.

Maier joins the West Caldwell Police Department after serving approximately five years with the Montclair State University Police Department, where she initially was hired as a dispatcher. She was then promoted to police officer in March of 2008 and attended the Essex County College Police Academy where she was a squad leader. After graduating from ECCPA and being a patrol officer for two years, she was then assigned to the Detective Bureau in November of 2010.

Her brother, William Maier Jr., is currently a police officer with the Mamaroneck Police Department in New York.

Officer Maier resides in Caldwell with her fiancé.
