Missing Caldwell Man Reunites With Family

Marcos “Giacomo” Alotto reported missing two weeks ago.

A Caldwell man reported missing two weeks ago has been found and reunited with his family, according to police.

Marcos “Giacomo” Alotto, 35, was located Thursday night in Bergen County and is "healthy and okay," Chief James Bongiorno said Friday morning.

Police would not release details about where Alotto was found for privacy reasons.

But family had been concerned about him being out of touch for so long considering he spoke Italian and very few words in English and had been off medication for depression and anxiety for many months.

Alotto was reported missing on Oct. 5 by his family who said he left his apartment at about 11 p.m. on foot the night before.

Missing person signs with his photograph and description were posted all over Caldwell as well as neighboring towns in hopes of finding him.

"We would like to thank the public for all of their help in helping us locate him," Bongiorno said.

Wonderful ! This is such good news to hear with all of the terrible stories that seem to permeate the news these days..Came in the other day to find a recording from the Caldwell Police Dept.on my answering machine telling citizens about this missing man and to be alert.I thought this was an excellent way to inform those citizens who were not aware of this man's situation.I first heard of it here on CALDWELL'S PATCH !! Kudos to your staff!! Gregory L.Mitchell-West Caldwell
