An SUV and a car collided at a Caldwell intersection on the afternoon of Dec. 31, according to Caldwell Police.
Police say a black Ford Explorer heading west came across Westville Avenue when it hit the front of a black Honda Accord traveling north on Gould Place. The impact caused the SUV to overturn onto its driver’s side.
The driver of the SUV climbed out of the vehicle and was checked by the West Essex First Aid Squad on the scene and released, according to police. The driver of the Honda was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries to his knee, hand and forehead.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

The driver and passenger of a pick up truck that slammed into two houses and a parked car on Ravine Avenue last month were taken to the hospital by the West Essex First Aid Squad where they were treated for minor injuries and released, according to Caldwell Police.
Police said the truck veered off the road and struck the porch of 58 Ravine Ave., then continued to hit an Audi parked in the driveway before finally stopping against the front of the neighboring house at 60 Ravine Ave.
Summonses were issued for failure to wear seat belts.
The accident occurred around midday on Dec. 15.
