Camera Captures Caldwell Nanny Stealing From Purse in Cedar Grove

Caldwell woman arrested for stealing from home in Cedar Grove where she worked as a nanny.

A Cedar Grove woman is likely looking for a new childcare provider after police say she caught her nanny stealing cash from her purse.

Malka Wierzchowski, of Caldwell, was arrested by Cedar Grove Police at her employer's house on Aug. 22 and charged with theft. 

The victim claims the 49-year-old nanny went into her handbag numerous times to take money and she said she has video to prove it.

The mom presented police with surveillance video of the nanny going into her purse on two occasions, stealing a total of $249, according to police.

Wierzchowski has a Thursday court date in Superior Court in Newark.
